SUMMIT BODYWORK
FAQ
Why do initial sessions cost more than follow up sessions?
Similar to a lot of human practitioners, the initial session takes significantly longer and there is more work that goes into an evaluation. Photos and video to put on file for comparisons, a full static and dynamic assessment and a report of initial findings, as well as communication with other team members (vets, farriers, nutritionists, trainers, etc) as needed. The initial session takes roughly 2 hours to complete, and therefore costs a little bit more.
What is the difference between full sessions and a sport sessions and the pricing for each?
Full sessions are meant to address the body as a whole and facilitate change long term for those who wish to continue as clients of Summit Bodywork. They include a full assessment, full bodywork session (including any appropriate modalities), full report and communication with other team members. The initial session can take anywhere from 1-2 hours depending on the case. Sport sessions are targeted sessions (maximum of 3 points of focus) meant to aid in performance without fatiguing muscle during competition and are not meant to be a long term solution. Sport sessions are only available in a competition setting and do not include full evaluations, reporting or communication with other team members.
What happens if you determine you can’t work on an animal?
Following assessment, there are limited circumstances in which a session may not proceed. This may occur if the animal requires care outside my scope of practice and referral to a veterinarian or other qualified professional is indicated, or if the safety of the animal or practitioner cannot be reasonably ensured. In these cases, a $40 assessment fee will apply. Travel may be additional.
Do you offer discounts for multiple animals?
Yes! For owners/trainers with 4 or more animals I do offer a discount of 10% off when booked on the same day at the same location.
Are you available for events?
Yes. Summit Bodywork attends select competitions throughout the year and offers on-site sessions when available. Due to a full schedule, I am unable to attend every event. Please contact me to discuss specific competitions, and refer to my schedule to see where I will be working throughout the season.
Do you travel?
Yes. Summit Bodywork travels frequently and works at a number of competitions and training programs throughout the year. Jenna will also travel to individual barns and is available to fly in for select clients and performance programs. When multiple clients are scheduled in the same area, travel costs are typically shared. Please contact me to discuss travel availability or potential dates in your region.
Do you mentor?
Yes! I will mentor students and graduates of an accredited program. However, I am not an instructor and therefore will not teach you HOW to do bodywork, I will only help those who have already taken the steps to become a bodyworker themselves. See the "MENTORSHIP" tab for more information.
Do you do chiro?
Summit Bodywork focuses exclusively on soft tissue work and does not include joint manipulations. These techniques are best performed by licensed medical professionals, such as a Doctor of Chiropractic with animal certification or a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with chiropractic training.
What is bodywork?
Bodywork is a hands-on practice that works with soft tissue (muscles, connective tissue, fascia etc) and movement patterns to support comfort, mobility, and overall function. Through a variety of targeted techniques, it helps release tension, improve range of motion, and encourage more efficient movement. Bodywork is not a replacement for veterinary care.
